SC declares Imran Khan Bani Gala residence constriction illegal

Islamabad, ): The apex court on Tuesday remarked that Imran Khan Bani Gala residence map was not approved and declared the constriction of residence illegal.
A three member bench head by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar head the case pertaining to PTI chief’s residence in Islamabad and encroachments in Bani Gala area. Imran Khan’s counsel Babar Awan appeared before the court.
During the hearing the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that documents provided by Imran Khan regarding his Bani Gala residence are not correct, adding that the construction is illegal in his opinon.
CJ remarked that single law will be made for everyone in Bani Gala and added that Imran Khan will face the same actions as like other would be faced.
On this the Imran Khan’s counsel Babar Awan denied any malpractice or lie, asking the court to check the signatures of the union council secretary. He maintained that his client would never indulge in malpractices for some money.
He reiterated that signature of secretary Union Council Muhammad Umer was present on the NOC documentation. “We approached Union Council for map and secretary written that map sought on the application of Imran Khan” he added.
He further stated that it seem government wants to conduct out media trial. CJP remarked, “We think the map of Imran Khan’s house is not approved and the construction is illegal. Upon hearing the arguments of Awan, CJP assured that the court will not demolish anyone’s construction, asking Imran’s lawyer to submit Rs 2 million for precaution. Later the case haring was adjourned till March 13.
