Shahbaz Sharif submits cheque of Rs.5.5 million in Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD (TLTP) PML-N President and former Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif urged the Supreme Court on Monday to dispose of suo moto notice about his self projection in various scheme while submitting a cheque of Rs 5.5 million in the matter. Seeking reply from Punjab government on March 8,2018 Supreme Court has issued notice saying as to why an amount of Rs.5.5 million of paid advertisement should not be borne by the Chief Minister from his own pocket or by PML-N. Submitting reply through his counsel Shahid Hamid, former Chief Minister Punajab Mian Shabaz Sharif said, “Notwithstanding that there was no violation of any law, rule, regulation or guidelines in force at the relevant time and that all was done in good faith and that the applicant never had any intention of benefitting either his person or the party, the applicant does not want to pursue the matter further and a fresh cheque for Rs.55 lacs payable to the Government of the Punjab is attached herewith”.
