My hands are absolutely clean in Peshawar BRT and Malam Jabba projects, says Khattak

Top official of the national corruption watchdog retired Justice Javed Iqbal’s recent interview to an Urdu Daily has evoked top brass of PPP and PML-N to give call for sense of responsibility but on the other hand incumbent Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak trying to convince the National Accountability Bureau that during his tenure being Chief Minister of the KPK, Peshawar BRT and Malam Jabba projects were executed in transparent manner.

While issuing a press release on Wednesday the Minister clarified saying, “ I ensured that all stages of the said projects were executed in the most transparent, cost effective and efficient manner strictly in consonance with the applicable rules and regulations.’’

Khattak was of the view that in an interview allegedly given by the Chairman NAB to columnist Javed Chaudhary, certain uncalled for remarks were purportedly given about him that alleged his involvement in corruption cases. He commented that the contradiction of the interview by NAB authorities is imperative that ‘’The misconceptions created by certain quarters about Malam Jabba and BRT projects be allayed.’’

Pervaiz Khattak explained that all stages of the BRT and Malam Jabba projects were executed in the most transparent, cost effective and efficient manner strictly in consonance with the applicable rules and regulations. Despite prolonged investigations by NAB, it could not find even an iota of evidence regarding any financial embezzlement, ‘’My hands are absolutely clean.’’ Says the Defence Minister

Khattak has authorized advocate Supreme Court Barrister Masroor Shah to response media queries and to give interview on his behalf in the matter.
