ACJ of IHC Aamir Farooq meets CJP Asif Saeed Khan Khosa over AC judge Arshad Malik video controversy

Days after vice present of PML-N Maryam Safdar blamed a sitting judge of the Accountability Court Arshad Malik while disseminating a video as proof that the court convicted Sharif in Alaziza corruption reference under coercion, acting Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Amir Farooq and top court Chief Justice Sardar Asif Saeed Khan Khosa deliberated over the issue on Tuesday.

Source claimed a meeting between the two senior judges lasted for over 30 minutes. It is pertinent to mention that a day before judge of the Accountability Court Arshad Malik met with acting Chief Justice of the IHC Aamir Farooq on Monday.

Earlier, the PML-N leadership disseminated a video during a press conference to establish that that Accountability Court judge Arshad Malik had found “no evidence of corruption against deposed premier Nawaz Sharif during adjudication of the references of the top anti-graft body.

In response to allegation leveled by the PML-N against judge of the Accountability Court for convicting an innocent Sharif, the ruling party has underlined the need for forensically establishing the authenticity of the video before rushing to conclusions.

A day after the PML-N disseminated video in question, jumping into the fray, judge of the Accountability Court Arshad Malik said in a press release that the only pressure he faced during adjudication of the matter was from the Sharif family itself.

Saying the case was decided on merit without favor and fear, the judge termed the video fake expressing that actually the PML-N leadership had tried to bribe and pressured him to pronounce order in favor of Sharif.
