By Muhammad Ali Siraj –
Amidst all the chaos and mayhem it has caused, all the eyes it has made moisten, all the smiles it has turned into the gloom, all the dulcet voices, it has changed into funeral tones, coronavirus is enjoying the best of its fatal powers.
“COVID-19” or novel coronavirus 2019 has got interesting but horrid reasons for being called “NOVEL “, unlike other pandemics which prevailed in a certain region at a certain time. Coronavirus is stretched across the world affecting every class of society. Compared with SARS and MERS in COVID-19 ( disease caused by coronavirus), the capability of the virus to attack respiratory system is nearly ten times more. Contrary to other pandemics, the death rate in COVID-19 is large and its morbidity, high. And this has wretchedly burdened all the healthcare systems of the world. This ascertains us how were to deal a misery at such a large extent. This virus has brought unconceivable changes in our lives. Restricted to their homes in lockdown there is a golden opportunity for the homesick people to enjoy the jolly company of their families. These’re the cherished moments they must have desired for.so, this is the positive impact of coronavirus. But the side effects of this misery are more prevailing. COVID-19 has disastrously knelt down all the superpowers of the world. Panic fear has dominated there with hospitals thronged with patients and ventilators are in short supply. Doctors there are striving to catch on to new techniques of using a single ventilator on more than one patient. In less developed countries like Pakistan, the situation has not worsened to such extent but the cases are rising daily. No one could’ve thought a year ago that corona like disaster was imminent. And there would be tingling in the spine to anticipate such a grim picture world is watching today. The virus affects different people differently. It appears in some people without showing symptoms and disappears after a few days. Some other positive patients for coronavirus become mildly symptomatic and are gradually recovered .and towards unlucky victims its response is vigorous. They desperately need vents and some of them generally perish. Being fiendish the virus spares no one. from infants the aged people, everyone is vulnerable. Those who are above 60 are mostly seen stricken by this affliction.some of the people in our society are no less fiendish than corona. They seem to be competing corona in bothering mankind .facing lockdowns across the world, millions of daily wagers have no means to procure money for satisfying their hunger and the situation is no different in Pakistan and some of the people from upper-class society have closed their doors on these impecunious ones. The glare of money has captivated their eyes so intensely that the weeping eyes and moaning hearted destitute are invisible to them. So coronavirus and these peoples both are truculent .but to combat evil their exists many God fearers and social workers who are proactively providing needy people with food items and ration bags at their very doorsteps. Generosity has also been aroused in the hearts of the middle class and they are also playing their parts in this regard this shows one’s heart must be large to exhibit munificence, not the amount of money he has. Coronavirus is also putting a positive impact on nature due to less vehicles on road, the air pollution of the world has been decreased to an approbatory. The spacious main roads present quite a charming panorama without heavy traffic and its obstreperous sounds with a mild cloud over the horizon. The ozone layer is also improving as it is less exposed to hazardous smoke of vehicles and factories. At dawn and dusk, the firmament looks so clear as to entice the eyes. Due to the misery of COVID -19 , nature is reviving itself . This makes us perpend how we have deranged our beautiful but fragile Earth for our personal conveniences. We must learn to observe voluntarily lockdown for a certain period of time every year. Thus, we can play a little role in retrieving nature. Considering all the charms and repercussions of COVID-19, we can say that this virus is proving a luscious dream but a horrendous reality for the world. But it can never be called a “Necessary Evil” and is gravely unwanted. Negating pessimism, I’ve a very strong feeling that we shall be relieved of this catastrophe very soon.
