ISLAMABAD: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan inaugurated the Center of Artificial Intelligence and Computing (CENTAIC) here on Thursday. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Air Chief said this institution will help improve the operational capacity of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), according to a statement.
He said the objective to establish this center is to promote research in the artificial intelligence sector as the technology in the 21st century has completely changed the war strategy. He further said that technology has altered the characteristics of warfare in the 21st century and the vision of establishing the center is to harness the potential of artificial intelligence and its integration in PAF’s operational domain.
Terming establishment of CENTAIC a landmark initiative in the evolutionary journey of PAF Air Chief expressed it will lead artificial intelligence research and development in both civil and military spheres.
Earlier, Air Marshal Aamir Masood, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Training), in his welcome address, gave a broad overview of the newly established center. Former air chiefs, principal staff officers and senior serving and retired PAF officers were also present on the occasion.
