Stockholm, Sweden – The global intellectual and scientific community turns its attention to Stockholm, as preparations finalize for the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony 2025, a venerable tradition held annually on December 10, marking the anniversary of Alfred Nobel’s death.
The prestigious ceremony will take place at the Stockholm Concert Hall, Sweden, serving as the official conferral of the Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. This gathering serves as the apex event where the laureates officially receive their medals and diplomas.
The formal proceedings will commence with the opening address delivered by Professor Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Chair of the Board of the Nobel Foundation. A panel of distinguished professors from the prize-awarding institutions will then present the rationale for each award, underscoring the legal and intellectual merit of the laureates’ contributions. Presentation speeches will be given by: Professor Göran Johansson for Physics, Professor Olof Ramström for Chemistry, Professor Olle Kämpe for Physiology or Medicine, Professor Anders Olsson for Literature, Professor John Hassler for Economic Sciences.
The solemnity of the event will be complemented by artistic performance, featuring music performed by The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Mika Eichenholz, with a performance by soprano soloist Maria Bengtsson.
