ISLAMABAD, : Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar while taking notice of closure of road outside intelligence agency headquarters has sought report from CDA till Friday.
CJP has remarked who closed the road and under whose orders the road was closed. Closure of the roads will not be allowed in the name of security.
The CJP took this notice of closure of road during the course of hearing of case regarding closure of road in front of Marriot hotel and Serena hotel Thursday.
The CJP remarked “ closure of roads in the name of security will not be allowed. Where there are security threats, security be stepped up therein. Law is equal for all.
Naeem Bokhari counsel for Marriot hotel took the plea we were not heard before removing encroachments outside Marriot hotel.
CJP remarked “ we have to get reopen roads and ways. We have reached Aabpara and you are still sitting in Marriot.
Naeem Bokhari said terrorism has not come to end so far.
CJP remarked terrorism is coming to end now.
A lawyer requested during the course of hearing of the case several roads stand closed in Rawalpindi cantt. This matter may also please be seen.
The CJP remarked you should file a petition in SC. We will see this matter.

The court ordered that it should be informed who closed the road and under whose orders the road was closed. CDA should tell that the department itself has set up how many encroachments. Uprooting rather than raising encroachments is job of CDA.
