Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh takes oath as acting CJP

Senior judge of the top court Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh on Tuesday took oath as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial administered the oath in a simple and dignified ceremony in premises of the Supreme Court Islamabad today. Chief Justice Sardar Asif Saeed Khan Khosa and Justice Gulzar Ahmed, senior puisne Judge has left for Russia to represent Pakistan at the judicial conference. During the period of their participation in the conference Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed will act as Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The oath ceremony was attended by Judges of the Supreme Court, Attorney General for Pakistan, senior lawyers and law officers. Officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan were also present on the occasion.
