President terms corruption as assault of humanity

ISLAMABAD: Terming corruption as an assault on humanity on Sunday President Dr.Arif Alvi expressed corrupt people illegally stashed billions of dollars abroad and the government is compelled to take loans from others to support the economy.

While delivering the inaugural address at a seminar ‘Our Faith, Corruption Free Pakistan’, in presidency on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, the President declared corruption one of the major impediments in development of the country.
Expressing resolve to further strengthen National Accountability Bureau to check corruption in the country, Dr Arif Alvi stressed for taking the corruption cases to the logical conclusion through strengthening the prosecution.
Calling attention of the society, President Dr Arif Alvi said corruption is an assault on the entire humankind which has impacts on the lives of all people so society as a whole will also have to contribute in the campaign against corruption.
Dr.Arif Alvi said is a legitimate institution working impartially under law of the land while expressing that future of the country is bright as the new government and the state institutions are heading in the right direction.
According to Radio Pakistan, President also launched a commemorative coin and postal stumpage in connection with international anti-corruption day in addition to delivering merit certificates to officers of the NAB who showed outstanding performance in eradicating the menace of corruption.
