PTI foreign funding case: EC orders for formation of committee to scrutinize foreign funding

Islamabad, Election Commission (EC) has announced decision PTI foreign funding case and ordered for the formation of a committee to scrutinize foreign funding.
A 5 members bench of EC presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) conducted the hearing of the case on Monday.
Finance Secretary of PTI, Sardar Azhar appeared in court in place of council for PTI Mansoor.
The petitioner, Akbar S. Babar was also present during the hearing of the case.
While announcing the decision of foreign funding case of PTI, EC ordered to establish a committee which will scrutinize foreign funding and file a report thereof to commission within a month.
A 5 member bench of commission will be headed by Director General for law of Election Commission.
However, the other names of committee will be announced later.
Both parties and their lawyers will appear before where they will file their all evidences and documents .
Committee will scrutinize the documents in the presence of both the parties and lawyers.
Election Commission has ordered both the parties to appear in front of the committee established to scrutinize foreign funding case on 19th March.
While talking to media man outside EC, former leader of PTI Akbar S. Babar has said that “An important progress has been made in foreign funding case in EC today.
I expect PTI des not approach High Court (HC) against this order because it has been the attitude of PTI that they always move high court to obtain stay order regarding any order passed against them.
It is hoped that this procedure will be followed to scrutinize the accounts of other political parties, he added.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan had accepted in Senate Elections that he had spent 800 million to 1000 million in the election
