ISLAMABAD, (TLTP): Representatives of the Young Engineering Technologist Association has decided to stage a peaceful protest in front of Higher Education Commission Islamabad on March 9, 2020, seeking fulfillment of long-awaited approval of National Technology Council Act (NTC Act).
They are also demanding approval of Technical Allowance for the Engineering Technologists and Diploma Engineers. B Tech engineers association is of the view that the Supreme Court had given verdict in their favour but the government was not taking tangible measures to implement the top court verdict in letter and spirit.
Technologists are facing difficulties as government failed to pay heed in order to address their much-awaited demand for finalization of service structure and promotion on one pretext or the other.
It is worth mentioning that B.Tech degrees are not recognized by the Pakistan Engineering Council. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has set up the National Technology Council Act a few years ago to resolve this issue, but the act has yet to be passed by the Parliament.
