FIA summons journalist Babar over story against PBIT chairman Sardar Tanvir Ilyas

TLTP REPORT –

Federal Investigation Agency on Wednesday asked GNN television reporter Babar Anwar Abbasi to appear before Cyber Crime Wing of the Agency at Islamabad on May 23 for recording statement in response to application of incumbent chairman of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade Sardar Tanvir Ilyas.

Babar Anwar Abbasi has filed a story on alleged illegalities and irregularities in a housing scheme of Sardar Tanvir Illays in Rawalpindi. Babar made a telephone call to Sardar Illays in order to know his version on the story. However, Sardar Illyas termed the telephone call as blackmailing and sent a legal notice to the journalist.

Babar Anwar Abbasi said while responding the legal notice that he has nothing to do with any kind of blackmailing but to perform his duty saying he has sufficient evidence about illegalities and irregularities about housing scheme of Sardar Tanvir Ilyas.
