FUUAST awards MPhil Urdu degree to Owais Al Hassan

The 45th meeting of the Directorate of Higher Education and Research (GRMC) of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Islamabad was held with acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rubina Mushtaq in the chair.

During the meeting, along with other scholars, Muhammad Owais Al Hassan Khan son of Mahmood Al Hassan Khan (Department of Urdu, Islamabad Campus) was awarded the degree of Mphil Urdu. His dissertation was entitled ‘Semahi Alaqraba ki Adebi Khidmaat’. This is a world-class literary magazine, publishing from Islamabad.

Participants of the meeting were Acting Registrar Dr Muhammad Sarem, Head of Faculty of Science Prof. Dr Mohammad Zahid, Head of Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr Mohammad Ziaud Din, Head of Faculty of Business Management and Economics Prof. Dr Masood Mushkoor Siddiqui, Department of Botany Prof. Dr Zarina Ali, Department of Economics Dr Ghulam Rasool Lakhan, Department of Chemistry Dr Sajid Jahangir, In-charge Faculty of Pharmacy Dr. Maha Jabeen, In-charge Faculty of Engineering Dr. Naveed Qaim Khani as members amid Rashida Khatun (Deputy Registrar Academic).

Muhammad Owais Al Hassan is serving as deputy registrar of the Islamabad High Court.  Scholars have congratulated him on the remarkable achievement. Among the prominent writers and poets who felicitated includes; Prof. Fateh Mohammad Malik, Dr. Nisar Turabi, Dr. Munawar Hashmi, Head of Urdu Department, Nowshera, Dr. Nazar Abid, Dr. Waseem Anjum, Head, Department of Urdu, Federal University, Dr. Ashfaq Hussain Bukhari, Head, Department of Urdu, Gilgit-Baltistan University. Dr. Nazar Khaliq Principal Government Shahbaz Sharif Degree College Rawalpindi, Dr. Rashid Hameed DG Institution for Promotion of Urdu Language, veteran Poet Haleem Qureshi and Mansoor Aqil.
