PTI chairman Imran Khan due on June 16 to address IHCBA

President Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) Shoaib Shaheen has decided to invite former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to address the Bar Association on June 16.

Joint secretary of the IHCBA Sohail Khurrshid Gujjar has circulated among all the Bar members to attend the event saying Imran Khan will address the Bar and apprise the advocates regarding current political, constitutional situation and its impact over the security, integrity and economic condition of the country.

Pertinently mentioned that coincide with Imran Khan’s speech, appeal of appeal of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz is also fixed for hearing on the same day on June 16. Maryam Nawaz will appear before the IHC in the appeal against the sentence in the Avenfield reference. A large number of PML-N worker and some ministers accompanied Maryam Nawaz on her appearance before the IHC for adjudication of the appeal in Avenfield reference.

Responding to media’ queries, President IHCBA made it clear that the function is meant for lawyers exclusively  saying no PTI worker will be there on the occasion of Imran Khan’s address to the High Court Bar.

Shaheen assured that efforts will be made to conducted the event peacefully, adding the IHC administration should not allow any political party workers to enter High Court on June 16.
