DLE and LAS inks MoU for Legal Education Reforms in Pakistan

Barrister Haya Eman Zahid and Barrister Usama Malik sign the MoU

Talking to journalists on the occasion, Director Legal Education Barrister Usama Malik expressed that partnering with the Legal Aid Society (LAS) will strengthen Directorate of Legal Education (DLE) effort to implement comprehensive reforms to benefit both educators and students. Chief Executive Officer of the LAS Barrister Haya Eman Zahid expressed saying the Society commitment is meant for bridging gaps in existing legal education system. “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with the DLE Pakistan Bar Council”, Barrister Zahid added. She informed that on December 27, 2024, a collaboration has been formalized to advance legal education across Pakistan saying “Together, we’re working on innovative curriculum development, educator training, and promoting legal research – empowering the next generation of legal professionals”. Key stakeholders from the legal fraternity including Haroon Rashid (Member and former Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Secretary PBC Gulzar Ahmad, and Deputy Director DLE Saqib Faraz witnessed the signing ceremony terming the partnership marks a pivotal step towards a more robust and equitable legal education framework in Pakistan.
