Banks Start Receiving Hajj Applications

Islamabad, (TLTP): All the designated branches of banks started receiving Hajj applications under the government scheme on Tuesday.

According to a spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the applications will be received by the banks till 6th of next month. He said banks will also receive forms on Saturday and Sunday. The spokesman said the Hajj application has been computerized and simplified.

The banks that will receive the Hajj applications are Habib Bank Limited, United Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, Muslim Commercial Bank Limited, Allied Bank Limited, Bank of Punjab, Meezan Bank, Bank Al Habib, Zarai Taraqiati Bank, Faysal Bank, Habibmetro Bank Limited and Dubai Islamic Bank.

Earlier, the banks were supposed to start receiving Hajj applications from February 24 but the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Friday last precluded banks from receiving Hajj applications till further directives in this regard.

The ministry instructed all the designated branches of banks to not receive applications and wait for further directives, saying it would unveil a final date for submission of applications later on. It directed that no bank will receive any form or fee thereof as per the previous schedule. Under the Hajj policy, the applicants of over 70-year of would tick at the quota column given in the application for ensuring automatic selection. The applicants, who had already applied in the last three years 2017, 2018 and 2019, should write application numbers of their last three Hajj applications for ensuring automatic selection.
