Call for justice system revamp in sub-ordinate courts

Speaking at 10 Tak with Mateen Haider on GTV News on Sunday, editor TLTP Khudayar Mohla expressed that the administration of the justice system in the field had been deduced from the British legal system, required massive overhauling by following local norms.

During the program, Mohla said that a civil judge has discretionary powers under the Specific Relief Act. He urged to narrow down such discretionary powers in order to speedy dispensation of justice process besides making it accountable.

Highlighting the grey area in the court management system in the existing administration of justice, former Attorney General for Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan suggested plugging the loopholes by implementing the factor of admission and denial notice of a plaint before its institution in the courts.

During his tenure as Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa has initiated online hearings in top court. Anwar Mansoor Khan said this system should be in lower court proceedings.

Former President Supreme Court Bar Association Amanullah Kanrani stressed the importance of the panchayat and Jirga system to provide relief to remedy seekers without spending a huge amount to get justice in the country.
