Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing on Monday called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) Committee, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat at Joint Staff Headquarters Rawalpindi.
“Matters of bilateral interests including emerging security environment with particular reference to regional peace were discussed during the meeting”, Inter Service Public Relations said in a press release.
Pakistan’s civil-military leaders frequently hold meetings with Chinese officials in the backdrop of multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
The CPEC is a 3,000-kilometre network of roads, pipelines and railways to connect Gwadar port in Pakistan to Kashgar in the Xinjiang region of China.
