FCC Chief Justice Vows Transparent, Rights-Focused Constitutional Adjudication

ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC), Aminuddin Khan, reaffirmed on Friday that safeguarding fundamental rights will remain the court’s foremost priority, pledging the constitutional interpretation will be guided by transparency, freedom, and integrity.

In his first public message following the establishment of the FCC, the Chief Justice termed the creation of the court an important milestone in strengthening transparency and enhancing public access to constitutional justice. He noted that its formation marks a defining step in the country’s constitutional evolution.

Justice Khan underscored that the court has been entrusted with a highly sensitive and vital responsibility – one that reflects the nation’s collective commitment to the rule of law and to the enduring promise of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Undescoring role of the the FCC the CJ FCC expressed it is not merely judicial but a sacred trust, directly impacting the lives, liberties, and aspirations of citizens. As the institution embarks on its journey, he expressed firm resolve to shape a judicial forum grounded in integrity, impartiality, and intellectual rigor.

The Chief Justice assured that every case brought before the court will be examined with exceptional care and fairness, upholding constitutional supremacy, the principles of justice, and judicial dignity. He voiced the aspiration to cultivate a judicial tradition rooted in reasoned judgments, institutional respect, and public trust – values he described as the cornerstones of any constitutional court.

Calling it an honour to serve as the first Chief Justice of the FCC, Justice Khan said the role provides him the opportunity to help lay the institution’s foundations. He expressed hope that the court will evolve into a guardian of constitutional supremacy and an enduring symbol of justice for future generations. He concluded with a prayer for wisdom, humility, and steadfast commitment to the Constitution in fulfilling the court’s mandate.
