FOSPAH Participates in 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women in Islamabad
Federal Ombudsperson Fauzia Viqar holds sideline meetings with OIC WDO leadership and parliamentary women's rights advocates

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) participated in the two-day 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women on July 12 and 13, 2026, at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.

Federal Ombudsperson Fauzia Viqar held sideline engagements during the conference with Executive Director of the OIC Women Development Organization (WDO), Counselor Sarah Ismail Al Shoura. The interactions focused on strengthening institutional collaboration between FOSPAH and the OIC WDO.

Viqar also connected with several parliamentary leaders and women’s rights advocates during the conference. These included Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Saira Tarar, Nuzhat Sadiq, Saba Sadiq, Dr. Nafisa Shah, and Mehnaz Aziz. The exchanges reflected FOSPAH’s ongoing commitment to policy dialogue and regional networking on women’s rights and workplace protection.

FOSPAH officials managed a dedicated information desk in the conference Marketplace throughout the two-day event. The team engaged with local and international delegates, dignitaries, and participants. Officials shared detailed information on FOSPAH’s mandate and fostered professional dialogue on gender justice and workplace protection across OIC member states.

FOSPAH’s Communications Officer Yumna Jamil and Assistant Registrar Aneesa Zeb engaged extensively with the core OIC Secretariat Women’s Team. They also interacted with representatives of various OIC institutions and delegates from member states. These engagements reinforced institutional linkages and advanced collective dialogue on women’s socio-economic and political rights across the Muslim world.
