Vienna : On last day of 61st Annual Session of Commission on Narcotics Drugs, the Resolution for Special Steps to eradicate narcotics in Educational Institutions as suggested by Government of Pakistan was unanimously approved with favor of all member countries.
The head of High Level delegation of Government of Pakistan, Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control Iqbal Mehmood thanked all member countries on this favor and mentioned this resolution as a milestone in the struggle to curb the sue and transportation of drugs in educational institutions of whole world.
It is pertinent to mention that all relevant departments especially Anti Narcotics Force, Ministry of Narcotics Control and Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifically Officers of
Pakistani Embassy, Vienna Miss Ayesha Riaz and Jawad Ahmad played important and continuous role in preparation and approval of this resolution. This is an important aspect that owing to importance and expected results of Pakistani Resolution, a lot of other countries Belarus, Libya, Nigeria, Paraguay, Philippines, China, Russia, Indonesia and Vietnam also participated in the resolution as supporting elements.

This resolution will support the especial campaign to eradicate drugs from educational institutions being run in Pakistan as per the orders of Major General Musarrat Nawaz Malik, Director General Anti Narcotics Force. Many member countries congratulated members of Pakistani Delegation especially Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control on approval of resolution to curb drug menace from educational institutions and admired the efforts of Pakistan in controlling drug menace. This resolution is considered as an important success on diplomatic front.
