While hearing a matter relating to drug recovery from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah Saturday an Anti-Narcotics Court of Lahore deferred indictment in the case over defence counsel plea that prosecution failed to provide copies of statements against the accused person.
At the outset of the hearing, the court asked the prosecutor to commence argument in response to counsel for Sanaullah submission that his client was late to arrive before the court as the court the Islamabad-Lahore motorway was closed due to dense fog.

During the course of proceeding, the defence counsel made a point saying the matter in hand is unlike other routine cases saying it was his client’s legal right to obtain copies of the statements furnished against him regarding the allegations of supplying drugs internationally by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
To which the court reserved decision on Sanaullah’s plea for securing copies of the testimonies in the case which would be announced in the next hearing. Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the drug recovery case till January 11.
The ANF has booked Rana Sanaullah last year during July from the Islamabad-Lahore motorway near Sukheki area on the grounds that a total of 15 kilograms of drugs were recovered from the PML-N leader’s trunk. Later, he was granted bail on December 26, however, his name was placed on the Exit Control List in the drug recovery case.
