Syed Qasim Abbas Becomes First Pakistani Judicial Fellow at the ICJ

LAHORE – Syed Qasim Abbas (BA-LL.B Class of 2024) has been appointed as a Judicial Fellow at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands. Qasim is the first Pakistani to be selected from a Pakistani Institution for this prestigious programme since its inception. He will be working for H.E Judge Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf from Somalia.

Qasim has completed his Master of Laws (LL.M) from Harvard Law School. He graduated from LUMS with the NMF Gold Medal for securing the first position in the BA-LL.B programme with high distinction. He was on the Dean’s Honour List throughout his time at LUMS. Qasim is widely recognised by his professors and peers for his exceptional academic performance and commitment to extracurricular service.

While marking the development as achievement, LUMS proudly celebrates this landmark achievement and his continued contributions to global legal education and international practice.
