Islamabad : The Co-Chairperson of PPP Asif Ali Zardari has strictly refused the proposal of re-election of Mina Raza Rabbani as Chairman Senate.
During exclusive meeting with JUI(F)’s Ameer Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in which the matter regarding the election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman Senate came under discussion.
After the meeting , former President Zardari told the media while replying , a query from a journalist regarding proposal of PML(N) of making Raza Rabbani chairman again, he said , “Thank you very much Mian Sahib , but this time I don’t want this”, he added.
He said that Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman sought some time for the consultation with his party on the issue of Chairman’s elections.“Maulana Sahib is one of the old friend of mine and I hope that he will go with us like before “, Zardari added.
Zardari said that those who are talking about ending of People’s Party are living in the fool’s paradise. The majority of PPP in Senate’s polls is the slap on the faces of those elements who are making empty claims of development .
He said that Mian Nawaz Sharif was disqualified on the basis of his own ghastly deeds. He is pioneer of horse trading as he laid down the foundations of “Chhanga Manga Politics”.
He claimed that PPP would make not only the Chairman Senate but also the future government in the country .
On the occasion Maulana Fazal-ur- Rehman said that Nawaz Sharif had convened a meeting of allied partners in which some proposals came to surface.
“Now we have called our party meeting and after it we would share our suggestions with Zardari”, Fazal added.
The sources informed this scribe that Salim Mandviwala might be the candidate of PPP for the slot of Chairman Senate, while Nawaz Sharif , after the consultation of his coalition partners has announced to support Raza Rabbani of PPP.
