The Law Today Pakistan Congratulates Every Pakistani – We All Are One Under National Flag, Vows to Champion RTI on 79th Independence Day

ISLAMABAD – On the momentous occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, The Law Today Pakistan extends heartfelt congratulations to every Pakistani. The organization reminds the nation that “we all are one under this Pakistani flag,” and renews its commitment to upholding fundamental rights.

Khudayar Mohla, founder of The Law Today Pakistan and a  Right to Information (RTI) lawyer, marked the celebration with a strong message of unity and national pride. He pledged to advance the RTI as a transformative tool for strengthening strong institutions and institutional arrangements to ensure public services are delivered without discrimination. This, he noted, will promote social and infrastructural development, and strengthen democratic governance.

“An informed public is the foundation of a resilient and participatory democracy,” Mohla stated. “When citizens are empowered with knowledge, they can hold institutions accountable, influence decision-making, and contribute meaningfully to the progress of our nation.”

Under this vision, The Law Today Pakistan will leverage its dual role as a journalistic platform and an advocacy forum to safeguard and promote RTI. The organization will actively work to educate citizens on how to utilize the law to demand transparency and accountability from public bodies. It will also monitor and report on violations of this right, ensuring that such instances are brought to light and addressed through appropriate legal channels.

Mohla further affirmed that The Law Today Pakistan is prepared to take decisive legal action where necessary, including filing advocacy cases before courts, to challenge any attempt to curtail or deny the public’s constitutional right to information. He noted that this mission aligns not only with protecting individual freedoms but also with fostering a culture of openness that benefits economic growth, social stability, and infrastructural progress.

“As we celebrate our independence, let us remember that our unity is our strength,” Mohla concluded. “We must all stand together under our national flag, committed to building a Pakistan where transparency is the norm, accountability is the rule, and every citizen’s right to information is protected without compromise.”
