UK national Farooq Ali murder case – Sessions Court issues bailable warrant to 3 police officials and 2 employees of Ramada Hotel Islamabad

Additional Sessions Judge Islamabad (West) Sikandar Khan will take up matter relating to judicial inquiry of UK national Biochemist Farooq Ali alleged murder who found dead during March last year in Ramada Hotel Islamabad on December 16 (Saturday).

Dr Rehiana B Ali, has filed a private complaint under Criminal Procedure Code 1898 before Sessions Court Islamabad alleging that her AJK-UK national Biochemist brother Farooq Ali was murdered during March last year in Ramada Hotel Islamabad. She says her brother has been living in Ramada by Wyndham hotel, Club Road, Islamabad since May 2021, adding, “We believe he was murdered on 11th or early hours of 12th March 2022. His body, however, was only ‘discovered’ on 16th March 2022.

The Judge has issued bailable warrants to five respondents who failed to turn up before the court in response to a complaint seeking UK national Farooq Ali’s alleged murder in Ramada Hotel Islamabad. Bailable warrants were issued in the matter to five respondents including Abbas Gul, Front Office Manager, Ramada Hotel, Talha Khursheed, Supervisor Executive Lounge, Ramada Hotel, Tariq Mehmood, Sub-Inspector/I.O, P.S Secretariat, Islamabad Police, Qurban Ali Anwar, S.H.O, P.S Secretariat, Islamabad Police and Aslam Nagra, Inspector, Islamabad Police

During October this year, the Additional Sessions Judge Islamabad (West) Sikandar Khan has issued notices to owner of the hotel and 14 others to appear before the court in the matter. Those who were issued notices were Chaudhry Riaz Ahmed, owner of Ramada hotel by Wyndham Islamabad, Afzal Aslam Mirza General Manager, Ramada, Khalid Zaheer Chief Security , Abbas Gul, Front Office Manager, Muhammad Zaheer Front Office Manager, Obaid Al Rehman Abbasi, Assistant Security Officer , Bahar Ali House Keeping Supervisor, Talha Khurshid, Supervisor Executive Lounge, Ramada Hotel, Hamid Nawaz Butler of Executive Lounge, Shehzad Sajid, Minibar waiter, Dr Niaz , On call Doctor for Ramada Hotel, Tariq Mehmood, Sub Inspector/I.O, Police Station Secretariat Islamabad, Qurban Ali Anwar, SHO, Secretariat Police Station and Akram Nagra Inspector Islamabad Police.

During last hearing of the matter, owner of the Ramada Hotel Islamabad Chaudhry Riaz Ahmed appeared before the court, however, latter his counsel filed an application for exemption from personal appearance on the second call saying his client was unable to appear during course of the day before the court on the grounds of illness.  Accepting the application the court granted one time exemption to him.

According to order of the court, copy of which available with TLTP, as many as three respondents in the matter appeared before the court of Additional Sessions Judge who were directed to furnish surety bonds of Rs50,000 each till next date of hearing. The court issued directives to respondents including Afzal Aslam Mirza, General Manager, Ramada Hotel, Muhammad Zaheer, Front Office Manager Ramada Hotel  and Dr Niaz, on call Doctor for Ramada Hotel having its office at Ramada Hotel.
