ISLAMABAD, (TLTP) : Supreme Court on Tuesday sought report from federal and all the provincial governments over estimated losses of property and lives of general public during the spate of violence after the apex court announced verdict on Aasia Masih acquittal from death row in blasphemy case.
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice on media reports that huge losses have been caused to general public on account of judgment delivered by Supreme Court in Aasia Masih Case.
Spokesperson of the Supreme Court said on Tuesday, “The Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of huge losses of property and lives caused to general public by riots and mobs in response to judgment of Supreme Court of Pakistan so as to compensate the sufferings of the victims who lost their valuables or properties during tragic incidents”.
He said that Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has called report pertaining to details of estimated loss, from the federal and all provincial governments within three days.
