LAHORE – The IVY College of Management Sciences (ICMS) successfully concluded its 1st National Moot Court Competition last week. The landmark event drew sixteen legal teams from institutions nationwide to the college’s campus in Lahore, giving students an invaluable testing ground for their future careers.

For two rigorous days, the participants engaged in demanding rounds of simulated courtroom argument. This competition served as a powerful tool to hone their advocacy skills, sharpen legal reasoning, foster essential professional confidence, and provide unparalleled exposure to the dynamics of real-world legal proceedings.

The competition featured fierce arguments and exceptional preparation from universities and law colleges recognized for their academic rigor. Teams from GC University Lahore, the University of the Punjab, LUMS, International Islamic University Islamabad, Bahria University, UMT, Pakistan College of Law, Universal College Lahore, Blackstone Law College, and Indus College of Law, Hyderabad, all contributed to the high standard of debate. These emerging jurists tackled complex legal issues, demonstrating the depth of talent rising within the country’s legal education system.

The culminating final round convened an exceptionally distinguished panel of judges, an assembly which underscored the seriousness and importance of the event. Retired Justices of Lahore High Court Anwaar-ul-Haq Pannu and Abdul Aziz presided over the arguments. They joined incumbent legal fraternity leaders, including Mr. Haroon Ur Rashed (President of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan – SCBAP), Mr. Usama Malik (Director of the Directorate of Legal Education – DLE PBC), and Mr. Shamim Malik ASC. Their participation lent significant weight and gravity to the proceedings.

In their final remarks, the distinguished guests and the judicial panel universally praised IVY College for undertaking this crucial initiative. They lauded the participating students, who demonstrated exemplary command over law, outstanding courtroom presentation, and persuasive advocacy skills.

On the occasion, Ms. Neha Mudassir, CEO of IVY Academic Network, addressed the assembly, applauding all participating institutions for their commitment to excellence. She highlighted that the competition functions as a vital platform where the legal profession actively identifies and nurtures its next generation. She further stressed its critical role in ingraining professionalism and delivering essential, practical courtroom experience to the young minds.

The success of the competition stemmed from the meticulous planning and tireless execution by the organizing committee. Dr. Zeeshan Ashraf, Head of IVY School of Law, and his dedicated team organized and managed the entire event seamlessly. Guests and participating teams extended warm thanks and congratulations to the leadership of IVY College for orchestrating such an “amazing and flawless” and professionally run competition.
