LHCBA delegation visits Istanbul Bar Association

Chair of the Human Rights Protection Committee of Lahore High Court Bar Association (Pakistan) Syed Kazam Ali and the Vice-Chair of the Committee Ch. Rashid Akram along with a delegation paid a visit to Istanbul Bar Association to meet with Atty. Nazan Moroğlu, Vice-President of Istanbul Bar Association recently.

The meeting was also attended by Atty. Sinan Naipoğlu, Board Member of Istanbul Bar Association. Legal education, structuring of bar associations, member demographics, expertise in legal profession, vocational trainings, training facilities for trainee lawyers, legal aid for foreigners and mandatory mediation were among the topics comparatively discussed during the meeting.

Vice-President Moroğlu rendered information to the delegation about vocational trainings offered by Istanbul Bar Association, efforts of Istanbul Bar Association to find out solutions to the problems and challenges of the legal profession in Turkey, structuring of the Board of Directors, right-based commissions and centers of Istanbul Bar Association and functioning mechanism of the legal aid offices under Istanbul Bar Association.

Detailing on the workshops and seminars jointly organized by Istanbul Bar Association, foreign bar associations and universities in Turkey, Moroğlu underlined that any cooperation aiming at finding solutions to the common problems of the legal profession would serve the interests of the attorneyship profession worldwide and she added that Istanbul Bar Association is open to any legal cooperation as far as joint trainings and seminars are concerned.

Chair of the Human Rights Protection Committee of Lahore High Court Bar Association S. K. Ali expressed the pleasure they would derive from being a part of a joint training program on human rights to be organized with the cooperation of Istanbul Bar Association and universities in Turkey. S.K. Ali thanked Vice-President Moroğlu and Board Member Naipoğlu for taking their time to meet with the Pakistani delegation and invited the representatives from Istanbul Bar Association to Pakistan to the meeting to be organized in April next year with the participation of a delegation from the United Nations.
