Islamabad The Supreme Court has issued another show cause notice of contempt of court to Nihal Hashmi and ordered to submit reply till Saturday.
A three member bench of apex court headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nasir has conducted the intra court appeal of Nihal Hashmi on Wednesday.
Following the court order, the petitioner Nihal Hashmi along with his counsel Kamran Murtaza has appeared before the court. On this occasion, the speech of Nihal Hashmi which he made at the time of his release from jail was screened out.
The Court has issued notices to Pakistan Bar Council and other Bar Associations of the country regarding cancellation of Nihal Hashmi’s license.
During the course of the hearing, Nihal Hashmi said that I am your lawyer. On this Chief Justice and head of three member bench said that the person who abuses us is not our lawyer.
“I have not even a single penny as I am a man of middle class. I cannot deposit the utility bills without advocacy”, Hashmi added.
On this, CJ said that you should have thought it before. Those persons will make arrangements for you for them you abuses the judges.
Justice Ejaz-ul-Hassan, member of three member bench said that you have adopted this attitude. First you said that I am in fast and now you say that I was under severe mental pressure.
Kamran Murtaza, the counsel of petitioner requested the court that the words which Nihal Hashmi did not say in his speech should be not made the part of court proceeding. He said that I want to withdraw my power of attorney. Upon his request, the court has allowed him to withdraw it.
Chief Justice said to Nihal Hashmi that you make good speeches and ordered him to submit reply in writing.
Later, the court has adjourned the hearing till Monday.
